Black 5 No 44871 & 70013 "Oliver Cromwell" stand in Totnes in an unsual formation with their two support coaches on the: 5Z98 10:05 Penzance to Totnes. The engines ran double headed tender first from Penzance to Plymouth, where they went round the Laira triange and 70013 ran round to lead the train to Totnes. The loco's attended the South Devon Railways Steam Gala after working a railtour to Penzance to previous day. 44871 later derailed on the South Devon Railway that evening, with one of the tender axles jumping off at Staverton, which closed the SDR between Staverton & Totnes for the remainder of the weekend. Sunday 4th April 2010.

44871 being assisted by 37706 (which was making more noise the steam loco) head west through Totnes on: 1C50 08:48 Bristol Temple Meads to Par "The Royal Duchy" The new footbridge has only been craned in over the lines less than 12 hours previous resulting in two footbriges until October when the old bridge is due to be removed. Black 5 No 45407 & Support Coach 35517 head west through Totnes forming: 5Z07 06:28 Castleton East Junction (East Lancs Railway) to St Blazey.
